What areas can I apply for?
The specific areas that grants are considered for are located on page 2 of the Grant Application: academic intervention programs, arts programs, music programs, after-school enrichments, and technology upgrades.
Can I type on the application, or does it need to be written on a separate sheet of paper?
It is preferred that all applicants type directly on the Grant Application. To do this, simply delete the lines and begin typing. Be sure to maintain the amount of spacing necessary to keep the form in its original format.
Once I am finished, where do I submit my application?
Please refer to the directions listed on the coverpage of the application.
How will my application be graded?
Please refer to the grading rubric for the grading criteria.
When will I be notified if I have received or not received a grant for my project?
All applicants will be notified no later than September 7th, 2012.
How will I be notified if I was selected?
All grant recipients are notified using the email address listed on the Grant Application.
If my project was awarded a grant, when will I receive my funding?
Shortly after recieving notification.
How is the money issued?
Applicants do not generally receive a check. If equipment and/or supplies need to be purchased, grant recipient will place an order with Rosalie Aja in Purchasing at the District Office who will then submit an invoice to CNSEF to submit the payment. If the project receiving funding involves hiring personnel, Jay Johnson in Human Resources at the District Office will submit a request to CNSEF for payment.
Is there a ceremony?
All applicants who were selected to receive a grant will be invited to the annual awards reception at the District Office in the Learning Center South on September 14th at 3:30pm.
Is there anything else I need to do once I receive the funding for my project?
1. Please submit photos and a short paragraph explaining the benefits and/or outcomes of this project at your site. Please refer to our Grant Testimonials page to view examples.
2. CNSEF relies heavily on word-of-mouth to promote its efforts with community members and CNUSD staff and students. Please help us spread the word by adding CNSEF as a "Friend" or "Like" our Facebook page.
3. Volunteer, donate, and spread the word to friends, family, and community members to help us with our efforts of raising funds to provide further grants to areas where budget cuts have hit hardest.
